Dabbling in Quilt Design: Oh, Suz-Anna! quilt tutorial Part 1

Sometimes one thing just leads to another.  You are in the middle of making a quilt.  And throughout that process, your thoughts lead you to develop a new idea. These blocks may seem identical to the blocks I made previously.  At that time, I shared a tutorial for the Kansas Dugout block and for my easy method of sewing Y seams.  My blocks actually have sides that are longer than the traditional Kansas Dugout block. In the tutorial post, I showed how my use of a directional print limited my layout to the following setting. Standard block layout I explained that I preferred the look of the on point setting, shown below, how it is more appealing and reflects the alternate name for this block - The Lattice Block. The Lattice block I ended that post with a picture of the Susannah, noting that I had always admired this quilt block and felt that it would make a gorgeous quilt.
